What Does It Mean To Be In Christ?
Jesus And A World View

Lead Pastor's Doug & Lori Towner

The Towners began Solid Rock in rural New York about 14  years ago 8/2/2009, with their first sermon being preached in Wallace, NY (the old Methodist church).  The church is now located in Avoca. Pastor Doug says the Christian life is a great and exciting adventure, as God reveals His plan step by step, year by year. It is amazing to see how God has used us to minister to multiple people over the years, many of whom have relocated to other communities. And now He is using us to be a blessing in the lives of other ministers who have joined with us to impact this world for Christ. We seek the Lord's guidance in discovering His purpose for this great union, and His direction.

Pastor Lanny Aboloc - Native Mission Philippines

In 2019 Pastor Lan  found our website, and after contacting us,  we welcomed him and the ministry as part  of our church family.

Pastor Lan began his ministry in 1996 with one indigenous family in a small mountain  village in the Davao Province, Mandanao Philippines. He has since planted five  churches and formed the Native Tribal Institute (a Bible School), and is engaged in other various outreaches.

10/31 Halloween Outreach

One of our biggest outreaches of the year, when children and adults gladly come to the church to receive what we give to them. And it was not a disappointment, as we ran out of treat bags in one hour, having given to over 200 children.

This year in addition to candy and a glow bracelet, and warm spiced cider, we included the gospel of John entitled 'The Story Of God'. Also our mascot Salvation Dalmatian made his yearly appearance to entertain young and old alike. The workers supper was yummy and everyone had a great time. Thank you volunteers for helping make this our most successful year ever. Pray that lives will be impacted by the gospel of John that we included in each treat bag.

June Prayer Walk and In Auto Prayers

On each Saturday at 6:30pm for about 20 minutes we gathered at a designated starting location in various towns to walk the sidewalks and pray silently for the people living in the homes we passed, as well as the people of the community, the local government, and school. We alternated weeks with prayer walks and in auto prayer (driving the streets). We closed each evening with fellowship and beverage at a selected location.

After our first walk, it was exciting to hear that another group was led by God to do the same. (See Gallery)

10/31/22 Halloween Outreach

This is our biggest outreach of the year. We gave out 240 treat bags to the kiddos which include a tract that invites the person to God and church. Additionally we offered spiced cider. (see Gallery photos)

06/06/22 - 08/15 The Reading (Public Reading Of The Bible)

On most Monday nights at 6pm we gathered at the Avoca village gazebo to hear the Bible read publicly for roughly 30 minutes. People were to bring a lawn chair and hear its splendor, sense its power, feel the love.

What has been happening on various Mondays: (Lady across the street listened from her porch, young man sat on bench to hear; A cloud formed a cross image behind the person reading; On a cloudy day just as pastor began to pray suddenly a small opening in the clouds allowed the sun to shine through brightly; Another time an auto accident had occurred just before we arrived so when we came pastor was able to pray with some who were there.) It was also awesome for us to hear the reading of God's word.) (see Gallery photos)

Thanks for your continued love, prayers and support!!!
